Mayfield Elementary School, Cleveland, Tenn., was looking for a classic schoolhouse feel with the benefi ts of modern technology. Opening for the fall 2007 school year, Dimensional Metals Inc., Reynoldsburg, Ohio, supplied 50,000 square feet (4,645 m2) of Dynaclad Kynar 500 prefinished 24-gauge Span-lock metal roofing in Colonial Red from Arkema Inc., Philadelphia, creating a classic and contemporary look. The roof, with three pitches, 20 gables and multiple canopies, is one of the main design features and complements the surrounding architecture, becoming a community landmark for many years to come. Community Tectonics Architects, Knoxville, Tenn., was the architect; D.F. Chase Inc. Construction, Nashville, Tenn., was the builder; and Village Roofing, Pulaski, Tenn., was the installer.
