Opened in May 2010, the state-of-the-art, four-story
self-storage facility sits on 0.92 acres near the 580 Freeway,
visible to more than 250,000 passing cars daily. The
102,500-square-foot building includes 3,150 square feet of
street-level retail space, security, loading area, two elevators,
covered parking and a 1,200-square-foot manager's apartment. The
facility offers 68,828 square feet of rentable storage space in 792
units, with 487 that are climate controlled. Unit sizes range from
5 by 5 feet to 10 by 30 feet.

Rob Burns, director of design for Extra Space Development,
designed the project in-house, including site plan, unit mix plan,
office and apartment plans and building elevations. Before the city
agreed upon the current design, the project underwent three
different building designs and three meetings with the city.
Computer generated 2-D and 3-D images were developed by the design
team to help city officials visualize all aspects of the finished
building.
The architect of record, Valli Architectural Group, took the
conceptual design and developed the code-compliant and
construction-ready set of construction documents, including the
complete site plans, floor plans, roof plans, landscape plans and
elevations, for the building permit.

The building exterior feature 35,000 square feet of API Century
Wall smooth panels from Kingspan Insulated Panels Inc., and 18,000
square feet of AEP Span's Box Rib and Mini "V" corrugated panels.
The green and blue building palette, along with silver metallic,
results in a clean and modern design. Sixty-foot high sloped,
illuminated towers cap the self-storage facility.
The roll-up doors and hallway system for the facility were
supplied and installed by U.S. Door and Building Components.
