An "electrifying atmosphere" is exactly what Hilton Garden Inn
hotel developer and owner, Jim Thompson of New Century Investments
Hotels and Restaurants, envisioned for his popular 107-key property
in midtown Oklahoma City.
"Our goal was to create a vibrant, contemporary atmosphere that
would add an upgraded value to the property," says architect Jon
Crowdus of JC Architects, Tulsa, Okla.
To create a unique aesthetic, Crowdus integrated Oakland,
Calif.-based Móz Designs into the hotel's overall design.
Móz products can be found throughout the design such as the
reception center featuring 18-foothigh columns highlighted with
24-inch-square Móz columns wrapped around the structure and
finished in a bamboo pattern with a Brazilian cherry tone. Móz
products are also used to separate spaces such as the "wall weave"
room divider separating the reception and lounge areas. The wall
consists of a clearbrushed finish with Brazillian cherry
columns.
Aside from the reception and lounge areas, Thompson took care to
make the hotel's 809 Sports Bar and Grill distinctive with an
illuminated, curved bar faced with Móz clear-brushed metal laminate
in a waterfall pattern that changes color with Lektron RGB LEDs.
The grill features two Móz Honduran Mahogany-toned wall weaves
finished with a horizontal coarse grain pattern.
The Móz features continue throughout the space, including a
10-foot-tall cylindrical electric red Móz liquor cabinet with glass
door and Móz-art "fireplace" in the entry. The 4- by 10-inch
fireplace is entitled, "Firestorm" and was fabricated from
1/8-inch-thick aluminum. Even the breakfast buffet stands apart as
the buffet counter faces a wall weave in a clear brushed
finish.
"The Móz contemporary flair gave us direction in regard to the
selection of furniture design and fabrics, as well as artwork
throughout the hotel," says Thompson.
