This project
entailed the total replacement of a 21-year-old metal standing-seam
roof that had weathered various tropical storms and hurricanes.
Petersen Aluminum Corp.'s PAC-CLAD material was used to replace
roofs on three key structures at this world-class resort-the Mikado
Japanese Steak House, Hawk's Landing Steak House and golf pro
shop.
Petersen supplied 25,000 square feet (2,323 m2) of 24-gauge,
12-inch- (305-mm-) wide SNAP-CLAD panels and 20,000 square feet
(1,858 m2) of flat stock for flashings. The panels are finished
with PAC-CLAD Kynar 500 Forest Green.
Part of the final phase of a four-year renovation that replaced all
roofs on the property, Petersen was selected for the availability
of stock PAC-CLAD Forest Green metal panels to match the existing
roofs and its Florida Product Approval and Miami-Dade Approval.
Installation was challenging due to limited laydown space and
continued operation of the 2,000-room resort at 90 percent
occupancy during the renovation. Petersen fabricated the SNAP-CLAD
panels and Nations Roof South LLC utilized a 53-foot (16-m)
portable sheet metal shop to fabricate the trim, gutters,
downspouts and coping.
