The project
features a Super Lumideck Hanger Rod Canopy from Mapes
Architectural Canopies. The canopy is aluminum with steel hanger
rods and uses 2 3/4-inch (70-mm) extruded aluminum decking and
8-inch- (203-mm-) tall extruded G fascia with a 4-inch (102-mm)
offset extension in a Clear Anodized finish. Aluminum was chosen
instead of steel to eliminate the maintenance costs and provide a
long-lasting accent for the building. Additionally, the canopy
provides protection for the front door while reducing solar heating
in the windows.
