The Metal Building Contractors and Erectors
Association (MBCEA) is debuting a new accreditation
program that will help metal building assemblers differentiate
themselves in the market place and raise the standard for quality
across the industry.
Accreditation Service (IAS) has developed a primary document
called AC478 that lists all criteria contractors and erectors need
to follow in order to achieve accreditation. The criteria include
aspects of management, safety, quality control, training and other
bits and pieces that contractors need to ensure the work they do is
the very best.
There are details and final aspects of this program to be worked
out, but the folks at MBCEA have put together a game changer for
our industry that is gathering steam. Metal building manufacturers,
other associations and IMPACT-the coalition group of
ironworkers and contractors-are all evaluating the benefits of this
new inspection program and finding it to be viable option for
raising the level of excellence in our industry.
