AG and Gilbane Building Co. have agreed to a joint
venture arrangement, known as Zueblin Gilbane, to pursue and
execute suitable projects in Europe. Zueblin Gilbane will
focus on construction projects that take advantage of the
combined resources and capabilities of the firms, with a clear
objective of delivering enhanced value to mutual clients.
"Having recently completed several major projects with the
U.S. military in Europe, Zueblin brings the right mix of
expertise and area knowledge to complement Gilbane's extensive
federal and healthcare capabilities," said Jeff Schramm,
Gilbane senior vice president and director of federal sector.
"We're excited to expand this partnership and develop mutually
beneficial opportunities for Zueblin Gilbane and European
clients."
The partnership brings together significant healthcare
experience as well as established success working with the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Gilbane recently
completed the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital and Zueblin has
worked successfully for the USACE and the U.S. military on a
number of facilities in Germany. Zueblin is currently
collaborating as principal subcontractor to ITSI Gilbane,
a Gilbane subsidiary, on the U.S. Air Forces in Europe
(USAFE) Headquarters Building 201 at Ramstein Air Base in
Germany, providing the opportunity for the two firms to build
on an already effective and established working
relationship.
The firms are also exchanging technical knowledge and
information on building systems including Building Information
Modeling (BIM) and exploring the exchange of selected project
and technical staff.
