The Bilco Co.'s thermally broken roof hatch has a low-conductivity element between interior and exterior surfaces of the cover and frame to reduce temperature transfer. Additionally, the thermally broken components dampen vibration and reduce noise from outside. The aluminum hatch features 3 inches of polyisocyanurate insulation with an R-value of 18 in the cover and curb, and a cover gasket to minimize air leakage.
