Compass Medical's 27,681-square-foot, five-story office building is shaped like a dog bone with shop-bent corner panels. Pando Associates Architects Inc. specified Metl-Span's 3-inch architectural fl at panel installed horizontally with extruded trims for the project, completed in June 2013 at a cost of $602,560. Barnes Buildings and Management Group Inc. fabricated the insulated panel corners at its shop in Hanover, Mass., to make the corners a seamless transition to the straight runs of horizontal metal wall panels.

The first three floors have continuous window units and Metl-Span's horizontal panels with different module widths were installed between the window units. The project goal was to provide the look of aluminum composite material at the cost of and with the ease of installation of an insulated metal wall panel system. Barnes Buildings also installed the eyebrow canopies with Metl-Span's 3-inch architectural fl at panels as soffits in conjunction with MBCI's 20-gauge LokSeam metal roof panels. Less than 2,000 square feet of LokSeam panels were installed as decorative trim at the roof.

Approximately 18,500 square feet of Metl- Span panels was used including 7,025 square feet of Metl-Span's 22/26-gauge CF-36 architectural insulated metal wall panels in embossed Silver Metallic; 1,000 square feet of Metl-Span's 22/26-gauge CF-24 architectural insulated metal wall panels in embossed Metallic Silver; 1,000 square feet of Metl-Span's 22/26-gauge CF-24 architectural insulated metal wall panels in embossed Regal Blue; 6,500 square feet of Metl- Span's 22/26-gauge CF-30 architectural insulated metal wall panels in embossed Silver Metallic; and 3,000 square feet of Metl-Span's 22/26-gauge CF-30 architectural insulated metal wall panels in embossed Regal Blue.
