Organized in 1950 with 65 charter members, the church's congregation paid off the mortgage in 2009 for its sanctuary that was built in 1992. Three years later, the original roof needed to be replaced due to general wear and tear. Since the members owned the building, they wanted a roof that required relatively little maintenance and would remain durable.
