Phinney Design Group designed Hudson River Bulk with a metal building system, metal roof and metal wall panels. The trucking company’s 17,200-square-foot building has a 24-foot eave height and insulated windows.

Miller Building Systems supplied its metal building system and completed erection and installation for the project.

Miller Building Systems installed 17,200 square feet of MBCI’s 24-gauge Ultra Dek metal roof panels in Galvalume. Two layers of batt insulation were installed in the roof, giving it an insulating value of R-38.

For the walls, Miller Building Systems installed 14,180 square feet of MBCI’s 26-gauge PBR panels in Burnished Slate. One layer of batt insulation was installed in the walls, giving them an insulating value of R-19.

Additionally, Miller Building Systems installed Kawneer Co. Inc.’s large insulated windows at one gable end and the sides of the building. The windows provide daylighting in office and showroom areas, and soften the building’s front elevation. To accent the office and showroom, Miller Building Systems installed three large canopies. Two of the canopies are partially supported by an independent rigid frame. The project utilized $450,000 in steel and was completed in May 2015.
