Lake O' the Woods Carriage House, Warrenton, N.C.

This 3,350-square-foot (311-m2), two-story building is the newest addition to an 85-acre (34-hectare) event destination that includes a building that is almost 200 years old. The builder used Varco Pruden Buildings' Panel Rib roof and Rigid Frame system because it was able to incorporate a clear span. The second floor includes a multipurpose roof that can include two bedrooms, a conference room and kitchenette. The column-free interior allows the bottom floor to be used for additional parking and storage. The building's exterior was designed to give a similar appearance to the other structures on the complex, which includes swimming pools, tennis courts and a manor house built in 1852 that is used for weddings and business retreats.
