Dri-Design's metal panels were given top marks by designers of the Mattahunt Elementary School. Approximately 28,000 square feet of Dri-Design's 0.08-aluminum panels in Gray, Cool Gray, Daredevil, Orange, Resoant Blue and Clear Anodized were utilized on the project, which replaced the building's original exterior envelope from the 1960s.

Brian Neely, project architect with Gale Associates Inc., says the original exterior, a 2-inch insulated metal panel system, was deteriorating and leaking at the U-channel joint between the two floors. Utile Inc. Architecture + Planning also worked on the project.

Neely says the Dri-Design system was selected for its high performance and cost benefit. "It also allowed us to bring a lot of life and color to the renovated building," Neely says.

Some Dri-Design panels were perforated to spell the name of the school on the exterior. "We were looking for a way to bring the name front and center," Neely says.
