New Holy Cross Church of WIC, Trenton, N.J.,

The New Holy Cross Church of WIC in Trenton, N.J., started its revitalization in 2008 by cleaning the exterior cladding stonework. In 2011, the slate roof needed to be repaired as the church's interior faced damage. Shiny Diamond Cleaning & Restoration, Princeton, N.J., suggested using metal. According to Marvin Salguero, general manager with Shiny Diamond, metal was chosen based on its look for the historic roof and for its lighter, more durable properties when compared to slate.

Allentown, Pa.-based ATAS International Inc. provided 11,730 square feet of its 29-gauge steel Advanta Shingle in Cape Cod Grey. The shingle is a simulated dimensional metal shingle with prepunched direct-fastening points with a four-way interlock for weathertightness. The distributor was Allied Building Products, Levittown, Pa.
