Salt River Fields Spring Training Facility, Scottsdale, Ariz.

Two major league baseball teams are sharpening skills at a new 140-acre development. The Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies prepare for their seasons at Salt River Spring Training Facility, located in Salt River Pima on Maricopa Indian Community Tribal Land. The project was completed in April 2011, after MG McGrath spent a year installing a metal wall panel system, louvers and weather barrier.

McGrath fabricated and installed 30,000 square feet of CENTRIA IW-10A and IW-30A metal wall panels in Stone White and Champagne Pearl with a three-coat Mica Fluropon finish and flashing trims. Additionally, the project features 438XP and 638XP louvers from Industrial Louvers Inc.

The training facility includes four major league fields, eight minor league fields, four practice half-fields, two agility fields, clubhouses and a 3-acre man-made lake for irrigating the fields. The Salt River Spring Training Facility is the first major league spring training facility in the country built on tribal land.
