Gray-blue configurations jut out like a ribboned washboard on top of shiny, parallel panels to produce a sleek and contrasting exterior. The panels (supplied by Lewisville, Texas-based Metl-Span) are part of a much larger adaptive reuse project consisting of a six-building renovation. Providing a modern aesthetic, the panels help revitalize a 100-year-old, 15-acre urban industrial site called the Century Foundry STL in St. Louis’ vibrant, growing Cortex innovation district. Vacant for nearly a decade, the abandoned site has endured the effects of neglect, time and the elements, but thanks to its massive makeover, is projected to transform into a new economic engine for mixed-use development.
