In our first annual Peak Award, Metal Construction News recognizes three metal roofing companies who excelled in 2015:
These companies represent the variety of the metal roofing industry. They serve the residential, commercial and industrial markets, and work with clients who may be building owners, architects or homeowners. Some of their work is new but a significant portion is retrofit. Project sizes for these companies can range from a small to the huge.

As a result of this variety, these companies operated in very different ways and faced significantly different challenges. Hippo Roofing executed 110 metal roofing projects in 2015, focusing on paneled metal roofing for residential homeowners. That reality influenced everything from how the company generates its leads to how it streamlines its estimating.
In contrast, Kessel Construction only did 4 projects in 2015, but one of them was a 100,000-square-foot retrofit which required the devotion of a significant portion of the company’s resources. A project that size can be an all-in bet that demands careful management.
Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal faced different obstacles in 2015 that required the management team to respond in very different ways. Over the last 10 years, the company has grown aggressively by capturing large-scale, complex projects. In 2015, it completed 21 metal roofing projects, totaling 325,300 square feet, an increase from 310,000 square feet in 2014. Its average metal roofing project was 13,800 square feet in 2015.
Three companies working in the same industry but they couldn’t be more different. Each of them is a worthy recipient of the first annual Peak Award. Read more about these great companies by following the links above.
