A woven sculpture of metal mesh baskets catches light in unusual ways and creates an eye-catching focus for a Seattle plaza. The installation was designed by Seattle-based Lead Pencil Studio[1] and uses wire mesh from Mukwonago, Wis.-based Banker Wire. Nine different lock crimp patterns give it a futuristic look. Diverse levels of opacity, light filtration and shadows result from varied opening sizes. Two different coatings produce its unique, multicolored appearance.
