Weaved Wayfinding Wall

Chinese art is arguably the oldest continuous tradition in the world and is marked by an unusual degree of weaved continuity. MingHua USA is the first Chinese tier-one automotive supplier in South Carolina, and its new 238,000-square-foot, single-story facility in Greer reflects some of that weaving. Designers at Spartanburg, S.C.- based McMillan Pazdan Smith[1] used perforated metal throughout its exterior to create a metal-weaved façade. Not only does it add intrigue to the facility’s exterior, it’s a natural wayfinding element that visually guides guests to its entrance. Oakland, Calif.-based Móz Design’s aluminum with 1/4-inch perforations and 3/8-inch staggered holes in Mist Grain clear poly matte finish was used. Poles are 4-inch diameter aluminum tube in clear finish.
