This wedge-shaped building in Sioux Falls, S.D., maximizes efficiency by fitting onto a site shaped by a natural gas line and an electrical service easement. Nicknamed the “Wedge on Western,” its five corner storefronts create an undulating street presence with a sawtooth profile. Clad in uncoated Corten steel from Teton Steel Inc., Idaho Falls, Idaho, and designed by Koch Hazard Architects, Sioux Falls, its 4- by 8-foot panel system will rust naturally and adds a weaved pattern to its façade.
