2014 Hall of Fame Nominations

In the past two years, the industry has recognized 14 members in the Metal Construction Hall of Fame, two of them posthumously. The Hall of Fame was established to recognize the giants in the metal construction industry, who have through innovation, devotion and excellence improved our daily lives.

We're calling for nominations for the third class of Hall of Fame honorees and encourage all participants in the metal construction industry to send in your entries. The Hall of Fame comprises members of all elements of the industry from manufacturers to fabricators to contractors to educators and consultants. Deadline for entries is August 1.

The past recipients of the Metal Construction Hall of Fame include:

  • Robert Ketenbrink, Spacemark Inc.
  • John Lawrence, Modern Trade Communications
  • Raymond A. Miller Jr., Fleming Building Co.
  • Marvin K. Snyder, Butler Manufacturing
  • Dr. Duane S. Ellifritt, University of Florida
  • Mary Farrar, All Pro Construction Inc.
  • Donald L. Johnson, PE, Butler Manufacturing
  • Tem McElroy, McElroy Metal
  • Ted S. Miller, The Miller-Clapperton Partnership
  • Clark Prudhon, Varco Pruden Buildings

The judges used the following criteria to assess nominees:

Longevity: Honorees must have been actively involved in the industry for at least 15 years.

Unique Contribution: The creation or development of a specific aspect or segment of business that has advanced the industry.

Body of Work: The depth and breadth of contribution to the industry throughout a career.

Legacy: The honoree's contribution must have had a long-lasting impact on the industry.

Integrity: Honorees must exhibit the highest ethical and professional standards in all aspects of business.

Judges will represent the Metal Construction Association, Metal Building Manufacturers Association, Metal Building Contractors & Erectors Association and Modern Trade Communications, publisher of Metal Construction News.
