METALCON and the Hall of Fame

On October 9, the metal construction industry will gather at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., for METALCON International 2012. For architects, contractors, building owners and suppliers interested in the metal construction industry, this is the most important gathering of the year.

The convention lasts for three days and is a vibrant mix of educational opportunities, new product demonstrations and show floor activity, as well as a chance to network with your peers in the industry.

This year, METALCON has revamped its educational program to allow attendees deeper access to more information. Many, of course, are available for continuing education credits.

But the education doesn’t stop in the seminar rooms. The Solar Bay, back by popular demand, provides up-to-date information about the booming business of solar installation, which has a special affinity for working with metal roofs. The Metal Construction News Hall of Fame

MCN is very proud to announce the creation of our Hall of Fame that recognizes the people in the metal construction industry who have provided the guiding light, inspiration and innovation to develop and grow our industry.

In our initial class, we will recognize 12 to 15 honorees that have made a difference. They will be divided into three categories:

• Manufacturer/Supplier
• Contractor/Installer
• Friend of the Industry

Selection for this honor will be based on the following criteria:

• Unique Contribution: The creation or development of a specific aspect or segment of business that has advanced the industry.
• Body of Work: The depth and breadth of contribution to the industry throughout a career.
• Longevity: Honorees must have been actively involved in the industry for at least 15 years.
• Legacy: The honoree’s contribution must have had a long-lasting impact on the industry.
• Integrity: Honorees must exhibit the highest ethical and professional standards in all aspects of business.

The judging will be provided by industry leaders.
