The board of directors of the Washington, D.C.-based American Iron and Steel Institute recently elected John P. Surma, the chairman and chief executive officer of Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel, as AISI chairman. He succeeds Charlotte, N.C.-based Nucor chairman and CEO Daniel R. DiMicco, who served as the Institute’s chairman for the past 18 months.
