Dow Announces “Design to Zero” Winners

Dow Chemical announced three winning teams of the international Dow Solar Design to Zero Competition. The first place award and a $20,000 prize were given to the Live/Work [1] team from South Carolina, comprised of graduate students from Clemson University School of Architecture. The second place award and a $10,000 prize were given to students from Clemson University School of Architecture for their Project Zero design. The Silo House [2] design from Canada was awarded third place and a $5,000 prize. In addition to the final three winners, Dow Solar announced four honorable mention teams as well as four ancillary award winners.

The program, which launched in August 2011, received 131 entries from 19 countries and is a part of the company’s commitment to support education and innovations that will help solve the world’s challenges.
