Englert, Inc. has announced the installation of a new three-head slitter that with some changes in manufacturing standards at its Perth Amboy, New Jersey plant is getting product to customers faster than ever before.

“By revising our standards we are able to get our customers more material quicker than before and provide them with custom order quantities on routine orders,” notes Brian Patrick, director of operations at Englert. “Englert is now providing its customers with coils made to custom square footages, so that the customer can optimize the usage,” he added.

With the new slitter Englert is moving faster and more efficiently so that a customer’s order can be met in a few hours. With the three-head slitter, there are no width changes for coil on a single head so Englert’s slitting team can make coil-to-coil changes very quickly.

The slitter, coupled with the new slitter line standards, is allowing Englert customer service unit (Customer Value Team) to be more responsive to customers and to exceed customer service requirements in an ever increasingly competitive market.

The project of planning and implementing the slitter included input from all areas of the company including sales and marketing, scheduling and cost accounting, maintenance and the slitter production team.
