The two-day seminar is aimed at owners, project managers, estimators, foremen, superintendents, code officials and architects. The next seminar will be held November 8-9, 2010 in Chicago. Formulated by experts from the Steel Framing Alliance, an organization at the forefront of the latest technological advances for building with cold-formed steel, and AWCI and its member experts, the seminar is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the construction methods and contractors’ issues including structural, load-bearing wall assemblies; interior systems; roof and floor assemblies; estimating; quality control and much more. As one attendee put it: This seminar will keep the attorneys away and provide information to increase the contractor’s bottom line.” The seminar instructors are: Pat Boyd, P.E. owner of J. Patrick Boyd Consulting Engineers specializing in design calculations and engineered drawings for the use of cold-formed steel framing in commercial applications and Don Allen, P.E. who is acting concurrently as technical director for the SFA, CFSEI and SSMA. Both instructors are experts in the field of CFS design and construction and bring a wealth of experience and insight to the seminar.
