Dozens of all-steel hangars coming to Frederick Municipal Airport

High Flying Hangars[2] celebrated the groundbreaking of its development at the Frederick Municipal Airport[3] in Maryland (FDK)—the first new hangar construction at the airport in over 20 years.

“This project represents a significant investment into the growth story of the Frederick Municipal Airport as the preferred access point to the region,” said FDK manager Andrew Moore.

The airport serves a general and business aviation market that encompasses the surrounding region as well as the northern Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.

The 11.45-acre development will be located at midfield within the airport layout and constructed in two phases: 44 all-steel hangars in Phase 1 and approx. 34 all-steel hangars planned for Phase 2.

“These hangars are another step in ensuring that the airport continues to serve the needs of a vibrant and expanding community,” said High Flying Hangars CEO Kenny Hinkes.
