Meet the Game-Changing Pros of ABC’s Construction Workforce Awards

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announced the honorees for the association’s 2025 Construction Workforce Awards[2]: Craft Instructor of the Year, Craft Professional of the Year, and Young Professional of the Year.

According to ABC, these three construction professionals are shaping the construction industry by highlighting its lifelong career opportunities, emphasizing safe work practices, and expanding skills-building education. The winners were announced at the ABC Convention 2025 in Las Vegas on Feb. 25. The winners are:

• Derek Robbins[3], HVAC director, and sheet metal instructor, ABC Keystone chapter, Manheim, Pa., is the 2025 Craft Instructor of the Year.
• Chris Weaver[4], site superintendent and electrical foreperson for Feyen Zylstra, Grand Rapids, Mich., is the 2025 Craft Professional of the Year.
• Ray Wallace[5], Nashville operations manager for Gaylor Electric, Indianapolis, is the ABC 2025 Young Professional of the Year.
