Glen G. Morrison will become president of Alcoa Building and Construction Systems, Norcross, Ga., succeeding David W. Schlendorf, who will retire following a distinguished 39-year career with the company. Morrison was president of Kawneer North America, part of Alcoa’s Building and Construction Systems organization. “Glen’s leadership has been instrumental in Kawneer’s profitability and recognition as the premium brand in North America. He is fully prepared to lead the global business as we look to strategically grow the business,” said Bill Christopher, Alcoa executive vice president and group president, Alcoa Engineered Products and Solutions. Morrison has played a vital role for Alcoa inthe building and construction industry since he joined the company in 1991 as sales and marketing director for Kawneer UK. He progressed to marketing director for Alcoa Building and Construction Systems, then general manager of the Alcoa Architectural Products unit of Building and Construction Systems. In 2005, he was named to his most recent position as president of Kawneer North America, which operates plants and service centers throughout the U.S. and Canada. Schlendorf’s 39-year career with Alcoa includes a number of executive commercial and technical positions. In 2000, Schlendorf was promoted to president, Building & Construction Systems. “Dave [Schlendorf] has had a commendable career at Alcoa and has been responsible for some of the most significant market developments at the company, including the aluminum structured automobile. As head of Alcoa Building and Construction Systems, Dave has done an outstanding job of combining diverse businesses from acquisitions and position Alcoa Building and Construction Systems as a leader in its various segments,” Christopher said. Alcoa Building and Construction Systems has plants and offices in 12 countries in North America, Europe, North Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
