According to OSHA, non-compliance can cost roofing contractors up to $7,000 for each occurrence of a serious violation. Committed to helping its customers maintain a safe work environment as well as avoid these fines, GAF, has partnered with the National Roofing Contractors Association[1] (NRCA) and the Western States Roofing Contractors Association[2] (WSRCA) to launch gaf.com/safety[3].

GAF recently conducted a survey that found 49% of roofing contractors who do low-slope roofing wanted more training on OSHA’s standards and required safety equipment. The creation of gaf.com/safety[3] addresses this need and will provide a resource for contractors to access training, documents, and equipment that enhance their awareness regarding low-slope roofing safety. The site will feature:

“Ensuring roofing contractors are in compliance with OSHA standards not only helps keep them safe, but also helps avoid potentially significant fines, stated Brian Impellizeri, senior marketing manager at GAF. While safety is a concern for roofing contractors, it’s also one for GAF, NRCA, and WSRCA. This partnership allows us to collectively leverage our assets and capabilities to deliver a resource that increases awareness and understanding of low-slope safety.”
