MBMA’s folio explores ocean science center design, construction

The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) added Milne Center for Ocean Science and Conservation to its library of publications.[1]

The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA)[2] added Milne Center for Ocean Science and Conservation[3] to its library of downloadable publications. The 20-page folio explores the design and construction of a metal building that is integral to Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Conn.

Tony Bouquot, general manager at MBMA, says, “This is the 10th release in the Architectural Significance in Metal Buildings series, which was created for architectural faculty and students to learn about metal building systems and their extraordinary possibilities. Each publication analyzes the design goals, priorities, and outcomes for that facility. The newest folio delves into the objectives, design, and construction of this incredible oceanic education and research center.”

MBMA created the Milne Center for Ocean Science and Conservation folio in coordination with Capital Studio Architects LLC, based in East Hartford, Conn., Carlin Construction Co. LLC, based in New London, Conn., and Mystic Aquarium. It includes:
