MBMA’s study offers insights to optimize metal building projects

The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA)[2] published KIPP Texas Somos Campus, an addition to its architectural significance in metal buildings series. This 24-page folio adds to MBMA’s library of downloadable resources for architectural students and their professors. It explores the design and construction of the three metal buildings that comprise the KIPP charter school campus in San Antonio, Texas. The folio, along with all the student resources, is available at MBMA’s website.[3]

“The 11th release in this series showcases another example of the incredible possibilities of metal building systems,” says Tony Bouquot, MBMA general manager. “By looking at the design goals, priorities, and outcomes for each facility, we’ve created a valuable tool for educators and their students.”

MBMA created the KIPP Texas Somos Campus folio in coordination with Gensler, Linbeck Group LLC, and KIPP Texas Public Schools, based in Houston. It includes:
