The Metal Construction Association presented James (Jim) Bush with the Larry A. Swaney Award and David Stermer with the Patrick R. Bush Service Award during the association’s annual winter meeting in Cape Coral, Fla. MCA’s new board chair Chandler Barden presented each award. MCA is now accepting nominations for the 2026 awards.

The Metal Construction Association (MCA) awards celebrate the people who lead with integrity, creativity, and impact. Now’s your chance to help them gain the recognition they deserve.
Nominations are open for the Larry A. Swaney Award and the Patrick R. Bush Service Award—two of MCA’s highest honors. If you know someone who has made a lasting impact on MCA and the metal construction industry, they want to hear from you.

Larry A. Swaney[2] Award
Honoring individuals who have selflessly contributed to MCA’s mission and the advancement of the metal construction industry. This award celebrates the legacy of MCA’s founding president, Larry A. Swaney, whose vision shaped the organization’s foundation.

Patrick R. Bush[3] Service Award
Recognizing an MCA member company representative who has volunteered significant time and expertise through committees, councils, or board service, just as Patrick Bush did throughout his career.

Nominations are open through September 30, 2025. Award recipients will be announced and honored at MCA’s Winter Meeting, January 14, 2026, in San Antonio, TX.
