Now in its 15th year, MCN’s Metal Construction Hall of Fame recognizes individuals whose achievements have made a significant and demonstrable contribution to the industry and its people.
Our Hall of Fame honors individuals who have helped advance the industry through innovation, leadership, mentorship, technical or business achievement, industry service, or other exceptional contributions.
NOTE: Induction recognizes the significance of an individual’s accomplishments and impact, which can be active and ongoing.
Metal Construction News proudly works with the Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA[2]), Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA[3]), and Metal Construction Association (MCA[4]) in recognizing individuals who have helped shape and strengthen the metal construction industry.
Nominees are considered in one of the following categories:
- Manufacturer / Supplier: Individuals who are employed by companies that manufacture or distribute products for the metal construction industry.
- Contractor / Installer: Individuals who are employed by companies that construct, erect, or install metal buildings or systems.
- Friend of the Industry: Individuals whose contributions fall outside the Manufacturer/Supplier and Contractor/Installer categories but whose work has significantly benefited or advanced the metal construction industry.
- Founder: Individuals who have distinguished themselves through their contributions to the metal construction industry, particularly through their involvement with one of MCN’s partner associations (MBCEA, MBMA, or MCA).
Eligible individuals have:
- At least 10 years of significant involvement in the metal construction industry.
- Made contributions that extend beyond the normal expectations of their position or profession.
- A record of achievement that can be clearly demonstrated through the nomination.
- Contributed to the advancement, growth, knowledge, practices, or success of the metal construction industry or its people.
Eligible nominations are evaluated on four criteria:
- Industry Contribution: What has the nominee accomplished that meaningfully advanced metal construction or its people?
- Judges will consider specific achievements, initiatives, ideas, products, practices, programs, or other contributions attributable to the nominee.
- Impact: What measurable or observable difference did those contributions make?
- Judges will consider the reach and significance of the nominee’s work, including its effect on companies, projects, people, industry practices, technology, safety, education, standards, market development, or the broader use of metal construction.
- Leadership & Influence: How has the nominee helped move the industry forward?
- Judges will consider demonstrated leadership, mentorship, knowledge-sharing, industry participation, and the nominee’s ability to influence positive change within the metal construction industry and its people.
- Overall Excellence: Taken as a whole, does the nominee’s record represent the exceptional level of achievement expected of a Metal Construction Hall of Fame inductee?
- Judges will consider the strength, significance, and distinction of the nominee’s overall contribution to the metal construction industry or its people.
