OSHA recognizes Wieland Metal Services in Parsippany for being a Star

Congratulations to Wieland Metal Services[2] in Parsippany, N.J., for achieving OSHA VPP Star Status!

On August 27, OSHA[3] regional administrator for New York Richard Mendelson presented the Voluntary Protection Programs[4] Star plaque to the Wieland team in recognition of their commitment to workplace safety and health.

“Congratulations to Wieland Metal Services for this impressive achievement and their continued commitment to safety excellence!” writes OSHA in its QuickTakes newsletter[5].

Wieland Metal Services in Parsippany is now one of 66 VPP participants in OSHA’s New York region, and the eighth Wieland location nationwide to earn and maintain VPP Star approval.

OSHA’s VPP recognize employers and workers who have strong safety and health programs and low injury rates. They work with OSHA to prevent injuries and illnesses through training and hazard prevention. Participants are reviewed every three to five years, and are not subject to OSHA programmed inspections while they keep their VPP status.

Meanwhile, VPP Star recognizes employers and employees who have developed comprehensive, effective safety and health management systems that successfully prevent workplace injuries while maintaining safety performance below industry averages.
