Velux showcases daylighting at its first U.S. Experience Center

Velux has opened an Experience Center[2] in Mountain View, Calif.—the company’s first in North America.

Located at 312 Castro Street, the center boasts interactive exhibits, fully designed living environments, educational displays, and personalized consultations to help architects, builders, remodelers, roofers, designers, and homeowners better understand how natural light, ventilation, and skylight technology can improve wellness, comfort, and home design.

“This Velux Experience Center represents an exciting new chapter for our company,” said Stephan Moyon, president of VELUX America/Canada.

The Experience Center[2] will also house the company’s third Pro Partner Academy[4] in the United States, where contractors can receive free business and hands-on installation training. Professionals in the Bay Area can also request onsite training for their entire team via the company’s mobile training vans.

If you’re in the neighborhood on September 18, the Experience Center is hosting an open house[5] from 3 pm to 7 pm, featuring live music, a photo booth, guided tours, appearances by guests Shavonda Gardner and the Renovation Husbands, and the chance to win two Velux skylights.

OEO Studio[6] from Denmark was the conceptual designer. The architect for the project was DERN Architecture + Development[7], while Hillhouse Construction Company[8] managed construction.

Velux skylights are made in Greenwood, S.C., and Wells, Maine.
