CertainTeed Corp.

CertainTeed’s Matterhorn Shakes are pre-weathered and chiseled to mimic the distressed, organic appearance of real wood. Eight elevation changes replicate the irregularity of real wood shakes. They are produced with a carbon alloy steel core, hot-dipped G90 zinc phosphate anti-corrosion coating, and PVDF paint. Matterhorn Shakes are installed with a four-point locking system secured with concealed clips. The metal shakes have a high wind rating to 130 mph. Finishes include Cedar, Shorewood, Timber Ash and Weathered Wood.

Metstar USA Inc.

Metstar’s Shake Plus metal shakes replicate the appearance of shake roofs. The concealed-fastener shakes are produced with 26-gauge Galvalume steel. Each panel of shakes covers 5 square feet, 50 3/8 inches long by 14 5/16 inches wide. Shake Plus metal shakes can be installed directly to decks, or directly over asphalt shingles without battens. Stone-coated finishes include Cedar, Shadowood and Weathered Timber.

TAMKO Building Products Inc.

TAMKO’s MetalWorks StoneCrest Slate metal panels mimic the appearance of natural stone slate shingles. They are produced with 28-gauge, G-90 galvanized steel. StoneCrest Slate panels are installed with a four-way locking system. They have a coating and resin-based finish in a variety of colors including Canyon Copper Bronze, Forest Green, River Rock Brown, Sierra Slate Grey and Vermont Blue. They are Energy Star qualified and rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council.

The Aluminum Shingle Co.

Aluminum Shingle’s Perma Lock shingles are available in three stamps: slate, smooth and wood grain. They are produced in aluminum, copper and zinc, and can be used for roofs and walls. Perma Lock shingles are approximately 18 inches by 9 inches. The metal shingles lay flat, interlock on four sides, and interlock with flashings.
