Panels combine enclosure elements

DuPont Performance Building Solutions offers ArmorWall Plus fire-rated (FR) structural insulated sheathing (SIS) and ArmorWall SP Plus FR SIS. SIS systems combine five enclosure elements: structural sheathing, fire resistance, an air barrier, water-resistive barrier and continuous insulation layer. The composite panels are produced with a fire-resistant magnesium oxide (MgO) structural sheathing layer fused to a poured polyurethane insulation layer, which creates a substrate for the cladding attachment, which can be metal or other types, and are not required to go back to studs. ArmorWall SP Plus FR SIS has an additional layer of MgO sheathing on the interior face, encompassing the insulation.
