Everest Systems LLC’s Fluorostar is a field-applied, water-based, thin film roof top-coating. It is formulated with Arkema Inc.’s Kynar Aquatec polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) polymer resin and has reflective complex inorganic-colored pigments (CICPs). Fluorostar can be used for applications over metal, spray foam, TPO, PVC, EPDM, masonry, asphaltic products, BUR and modified bitumen. The coating resists fading from ultraviolet (UV) radiation and minimizes absorption of solar energy. It also resists dirt, biological growth, chalking, degradation and maintains color for 20 years. Additionally, Fluorostar can be used with Everest Systems’ acrylic EverCoat system to provide durability, abrasion resistance and waterproofing properties.
