A perforated, back-lit metal ceiling with the Alabama Script A logo and trails of additional perforations was built in the football locker room at Bryant-Denny Stadium at University of Alabama. The locker room is at the end of a new team tunnel, which has audiovisual elements with highlights of the university’s football program. The locker room is designed as an extension of the tunnel.
Jesse Ranly, vice president-creative, client strategy at design firm Forty Nine Degrees, says, “We wanted the locker room to be a little bit darker, a little bit more subdued, creating an intimate atmosphere and mood.”
Dixie Acoustical Contractors Inc. constructed the 1,620-square-foot ceiling with Armstrong Ceiling and Wall Solutions’ custom perforated MetalWorks Torsion Spring Ceiling System and LED light boxes.
