Two aging aviation hangars were given new life and a unified design in a renovation project with metal roofing and wall panels. Chandler Aviation Inc. has two buildings at Chandler Municipal Airport, one with a wood roof and masonry walls built in the late-1960s and another that’s a metal building built in the mid-1970s. Architecture firm MRA Associates LLC designed a red and white exterior that makes the two buildings look like one 9,800-square-foot building.
For an entry canopy, IAO Steel Inc. fabricated and installed decorative steel. On the roofs, LMBI Inc. installed 6,400 square feet of MBCI’s R-Panels in white. On walls, LMBI installed 5,400 square feet of MBCI’s 26-gauge PBR metal wall panels in White and Red. To match the white metal wall panels, the masonry walls were painted white.
For accent panels, LMBI installed Western States Metal Roofing’s PBR metal wall panels in Copper Penny. At a side stairwell structure, LMBI installed Western States Metal Roofing’s perforated, 24-gauge R panels in Copper Penny. Arizona Corporate Builders LLC, metal building contractor and specialist for the project, supplied the panels, and subcontracted LMBI and others.
