Metal panels were specified for their thermal properties and integrated air-and-vapor barrier for Charleston Area Medical Center
(CAMC) Cancer Center, completed in May 2015. The 37,100-square-foot project utilized 28,800 square feet of CENTRIA’s 2-inch-thick insulated metal panels with 22-gauge face skins in a Silversmith two-coat mica finish. Additionally, East Coast Metal Systems Inc. fabricated 8,300 square feet of Alcoa Architectural Products’ Reynobond aluminum composite material (ACM) panels with a 4-mm fire-retardant core and 0.02-aluminum facers in Champagne Bronze two-coat mica finish.

ACM panels were utilized as accent features custom fabricated to design profiles used at cornices and other trim features. Wall assemblies have conventional light-gauge metal framing and exterior sheathing. Approximately $1.6 million in metal building products were used for the project.
