Grimm and Parker Architects’ design for the Culinary Arts Center at Prince George’s Community College features a canopy with segmented curves and sloped soffits. To attach flat panels to a curved surface, the panels were segmented so they could be tilted as a four-panel assembly along the curve.

Alonzo Ours Construction Inc. installed Kingspan Insulated Panels Inc.’s BENCHMARK Designwall 1000 insulated metal panels (IMPs) in two colors: 8,288 square feet in Silver Metallic and 1,838 square feet in Copper Penny. The 21,351-square-foot building houses classrooms, three restaurant-size kitchens and meeting space.
