The architecture for Dickies Arena, a sports, music and major event venue with a capacity for 14,000 people, is inspired by the Southwest Art Deco style. To express the concept, Prairie motifs are incorporated in custom metalwork throughout concourse staircases and balconies.
In total, Trex Commercial Products supplied 14,000 feet of architectural railing for the 750,000-square-foot facility. Railings include stainless steel and aluminum Tensiline cable railing, Griprail, custom guardrails and picket railing. Decorative metal panels with custom extrusions and water jet-cut grass patterns were also used.
Tensiline cable railing with stainless steel cables was installed in front of seating areas, allowing for minimal sightline obstruction. Griprail provides a graspable metal handrail in between aisles for safety and crowd control. Curved post guardrail at a bar area allows clear views overlooking the event space.
