Disciples Church Worship and Family Center, Bakersfield, Calif

Two separate buildings on a 4-acre campus comprise Disciples Church Worship and Family Center. The 21,243-square-foot project has a 12,500-squarefoot Worship Center and 8,500-square-foot Family Center. Klassen Corp., design-builder, incorporated metal building systems, metal roofing and wall panels in its design for the buildings.

The Worship Center houses worship, administration and adult spaces, and includes a spacious lobby with a coffee bar leading into a 320-seat sanctuary. The Family Center houses the youth and children spaces. The back of the Family Center opens to an expansive field for sports and outdoor activities.

To complete the project, Nucor Building Systems, a division of Nucor Corp., supplied its metal building systems, metal roof and wall panels. The Worship Center was built with a single slope metal building system with rigid frame clear span framing. The Family Center has a symmetrical gable, lean-to, and single slope pre-engineered metal building with rigid frame multi-span framing.

Nucor Building Systems supplied its CFR standing seam roof system in Polar White and Classic Wall metal wall panels in Fox Gray and Medium Gray. The company also supplied metal trim in Fox Gray and Medium Gray.

McElroy Metal supplied its Medallion-Lok metal roof panels in Regal White and two soffit panels: Marquee-II MSP-1 in Ash Gray and Marquee- II in Slate Gray. McElroy Metal also supplied its Mega-Rib metal wall panels in Antique Patina and metal trim in Ash Gray and Antique Patina.
