To emphasize vertical lines on two grounds maintenance buildings, which are called the Environmental Center, at Glenstone Museum, Samaha Associates PC, design architect, and Thomas Phifer and Partners, architect of record, aligned windows and doors with lines in the profile of wall panels on the buildings. To make the vertical lines consistent around the buildings, instead of roll-up doors, bifold doors clad with metal panels in the same profile as the walls were used.

The 14,487-square-foot maintenance buildings are part of a 240,000-square-foot expansion and renovation of the museum. MTD Erectors Inc. constructed the buildings with American Buildings Co.’s metal building systems, 14,487 square feet of All Weather Insulated Panels Inc.’s (AWIP) 26-gauge SR2 standing seam insulated metal roof panels in custom Gray, 15,700 square feet of AWIP’s DM40 Double Mesa insulated metal wall panels in custom Gray, and Schweiss Doors’ bifold doors.
