HOK designed Lynn Family Stadium, home of the Louisville City Football Club, with a lot of vertical lines. At a variety of spaces throughout the soccer stadium, single-skin aluminum panels with vertical seams contribute to the look.

Dark-colored panels were used. Black panels were installed primarily at exterior entrances. Gray panels were mainly placed inside including at food areas, broadcasting booths and center field.

Mike Hurley, project manager at MG McGrath Inc., the fabricator and installer, says, “Longer panel lengths with rich black colors sharpened the patched edges of the panels and created the consistent, tapered look the architects were after.”

MG McGrath fabricated and installed more than 16,000 square feet of CENTRIA’s 0.05-inchthick aluminum, IW-40A concealed fastener wall panels. The panels have multi-coat Sherwin- Williams Coil Coatings’ finishes in Rich Black and Grey Velvet.

Lynn Family Stadium, located in the Butchertown neighborhood, is a new stadium for Louisville City Football Club, which had formerly played home games at Louisville Slugger Field, with smaller soccer pitches. The stadium has seating capacity for 11,300 spectators, 18 viewing suites, eight bars and restaurants and a 72-footlong video board.
