Nebraska Public Power District

The new 87,000-square-foot customer service/operations center consolidates four separate locations into one highly sustainable, green facility. The building provides 45,000 square feet for administration/office space plus 42,000 square feet for vehicle and equipment storage. The $20 million facility has achieved LEED Gold certification and features three key alternative energy components: an expandable geo-thermal system with 128 ground source wells; the largest rotating solar collector in North America programmed to reset to the orientation of the rising sun each day; and three wind turbines of different types and sizes.

Dri-Design supplied 12,887 square feet of its 1.5-mm VM Anthra Zinc Dri-Design panels, and 2,157 square feet of its 0.080-aluminum Dri-Design panels in Classic Copper. VM Anthra Zinc is manufactured by Umicore Building Products USA Inc.
