Northridge Local School, Dayton, Ohio

Levin Porter Architects designed an architectural feature at the entrance to Northridge Local Schools’ pre-K-12, 230,000-squarefoot school campus, that resembles an iceberg, home to the school’s mascot, a polar bear. The landmark element consists of several different, faceted shapes. It is wrapped in metal panels in complex forms. Each panel is a different size. All the metal panels are white, but due to varying angles, reflecting light makes them appear different colors.

Valley Interior Systems installed 3,903 square feet of Mitsubishi Chemical Composites America Inc.’s 4-mm-thick ALPOLIC metal composite material (MCM) with a polyethylene (PE) core and custom, threecoat SIW White finish.
