Private Residence, Healdsburg, Calif.

Designed by San Francisco-based Mark Horton Architecture, this
private residence in Healdsburg, Calif., is also known as Healdsburg II. The 1,960-square-foot space sits on a knoll overlooking the town. Formally, the public realm of the house has been reduced to a single room, with all public functions occurring in the front volume in a single space. The house’s private aspects have been arranged in a simple manner in the back volume.

Designed for a small family, the house makes use of a number of architectural metal products including 18- inch Galvalume metal roof panels in Dark Bronze from AEP Span, Fontana, Calif. Firestone Metal Products, Anoka, Minn., provided a number of UR-Pro Omega steel corrugated wall panels with exposed fasteners with a Kynar 500 Fluorocarbon finish in Slate Gray. Additionally, general contractor and fabricator, J Bradford Construction, Rohnert Park, Calif., supplied a number of flat metal panels in Dark Bronze and Bright Silver. Smith Engineering, San Francisco, served as the structural engineer, and Curtis & Associates, Healdsburg, served as the civil engineer.
